Cookie & Storage Policy

Plain language summary
This website uses a limited amount of required cookies and browser storage to operate securely and remember settings you request. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site profiles, session recording, or visitor analytics on the public website. The embedded Google Map stays off until you allow it.
IP addresses and network security
An IP address is not a cookie, but it necessarily reaches the hosting provider when the browser requests a page. It may be processed in limited logs and security systems to deliver the site, prevent attacks, and troubleshoot failures. The application does not use the IP address for advertising. When abuse limiting is needed, the application temporarily transforms the address with a dedicated HMAC key before creating a distributed counter. The untransformed address is not sent to Upstash, and optional Upstash analytics are disabled.
Required technologies
These technologies are necessary for security, a feature you request, or remembering your privacy choice. They are not used for advertising.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| pf_privacy_choices | Remembers whether you selected required technologies only or allowed the embedded Google Map. It contains no unique identifier, visited pathname, or health information. | 180 days | Required first-party cookie |
| podiatry-language | Stores only the language you choose, English or Spanish, so the website can remember that preference on future visits. It contains no name, identifier, page history, form values, or health information. | Until you change the preference or clear browser data | Required first-party local storage selected by the user |
| podiatry-language-explicit | Stores only a yes/no flag confirming that you explicitly selected English or Spanish. It contains no name, identifier, page history, form values, or health information. | Until you change the preference or clear browser data | Required first-party local storage used to remember an explicit language choice |
| podiatry-language-prompt-dismissed | Stores only a yes/no flag when you close the language suggestion without changing languages. It is used only to keep the suggestion from reappearing while you refresh or navigate in the current tab. | Current browser tab/session | Required first-party session storage used to remember language-prompt dismissal |
| podiatry-accessibility | Stores accessibility settings you select in your browser, such as text size, contrast, or reduced motion. | Until you reset the settings or clear browser data | Required local storage selected by the user |
| Administrator session cookies | Maintain sign-in and security for the private administrator area. They are not used for public visitors who are not administrators. | Session and secure renewal | Required authentication cookies |
| pf_holiday_preview_seed / pf_holiday_preview_token | Temporarily authorize and prepare a holiday preview requested by an administrator in the same browser tab. They are not created during ordinary public browsing. | Current browser tab or until removed | Required administrator preview session storage |
| pf_maint_bypass | Lets an authorized person review the website during maintenance mode. It is created only after a valid private access link is used. | 30 days | Required first-party maintenance cookie |
| __cf_bm | May be created by Cloudflare on protected vendor requests to detect automated traffic and abuse. It does not correspond to a practice user identifier. | About 30 minutes after inactivity | Required vendor security cookie |
Language is still represented by the page address, including the /es path for Spanish. When you choose or confirm a language, the site stores only the value en or es in your browser to remember that preference. That value is not sent to the server as a cookie. The site continues to expire any NEXT_LOCALE cookie created by an earlier version.
Optional Google Map
The office page first shows a private address card. Your browser does not create the embedded map or connect to Google Maps until you select Allow and load map or enable external media. After you allow it, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the page you opened, and may use its own cookies. You can withdraw this choice at any time.
The Get Directions link opens Google in a new page only after you select it. That direct navigation is governed by Googleโs policies.
Change your choice
You can change your choice through Privacy Choices in the footer. Turning the map off prevents future connections from the embedded map. It cannot erase cookies an outside provider may already have placed; you can remove those through your browser settings.
