Sometimes an examination does not provide all the information needed. Our office offers digital X-rays and Smart-LEDA+ testing when the doctor determines that imaging, circulation, or autonomic nerve information could add useful information.

Available in our office
Testing is available during a visit when the doctor determines it is useful.
Part of the evaluation
The doctor reviews the results along with your history and examination.
Clear explanation
The doctor can explain why a test may be useful and what information it can provide.
20/20 Imaging PXS-710D
In-Office X-Rays
Digital Foot & Ankle X-Rays
Digital X-rays create images of the bones and joints in the foot or ankle. They can show details that may not be clear during a physical examination.
What This Test Does
Shows the bones and joints of the foot and ankle
The doctor reviews the images as part of your evaluation
Different views can focus on the area being examined
The doctor decides whether X-rays are needed based on your concern and examination
Position of plates or screws placed during surgery when relevant
Certain foreign objects that may show on X-ray
What Happens During the Test
If X-rays are needed, a trained team member positions the foot or ankle and takes the views requested by the doctor. The doctor reviews the images together with the exam and the reason for the visit.
Smart-LEDA+
Vascular & Sudomotor Testing
Smart-LEDA+ Vascular & Nerve Function Testing
Smart-LEDA+ combines vascular measurements with sudomotor testing. Depending on what the doctor needs to evaluate, the system can provide ankle-brachial index (ABI), toe-brachial index (TBI), pulse volume recording (PVR), microvascular, and sudomotor information.
What This Test Does
Measures ABI using blood pressure readings from the arms and ankles
Measures TBI using toe and arm pressures for additional information about smaller blood vessels
Records PVR waveforms that provide additional information about arterial circulation
Includes sudomotor testing that provides information about autonomic nerve function
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) and other circulation concerns
Blood flow that may be relevant when diabetes or a wound is present
Microvascular information when toe pressures are clinically useful
Autonomic nerve function when peripheral autonomic neuropathy is a concern
Changes in vascular measurements when the doctor has a reason to compare results over time
What Happens During the Test
The exact test depends on what the doctor needs to evaluate. Vascular testing may use blood pressure cuffs and toe measurements, while sudomotor testing provides additional information about autonomic nerve function. Results are not immediate. Dr. Fernandez reviews the Smart-LEDA+ results after testing, and our staff will contact you after her review is complete. Please allow a few business days for review and notification. No single measurement establishes a diagnosis by itself.
Diagnostic Testing Available in Our Office
If you have a foot or ankle concern, request an evaluation. The doctor can determine whether X-rays or Smart-LEDA+ testing would add useful information.
